The practice
Hands-on consulting work.
More than two decades in asset liability management and CECL consulting, serving institutions from under $100M to over $5B.
My career has included direct advisory work with more than 100 institutions across multiple states. It has also included teaching ALM and liquidity concepts to newly commissioned examiners, guiding leadership teams through adverse examination findings, and helping institutions develop credible responses to examiner concerns on nearly every topic. Throughout that time, I have been a frequent speaker at industry conferences on ALM, CECL, interest rate risk, and related regulatory topics. I have personally facilitated over 1,000 ALCO and Board presentations.

less common in this field
I am the primary developer of ALM and CECL models that have been used by credit unions and banks across the country.
One credential that is less common in this field: I am the primary developer of an ALM model and a CECL model that have been used by credit unions and banks across the country. Building those model required a deep understanding of the mechanics, assumptions, and limitations that sit beneath the outputs most practitioners see on the surface. That foundation shapes how I approach every validation.
Over the course of my career I have performed an ALM validation on many models in use across the industry. I have also performed validations on several CECL models. I know how they are structured, where they perform well, and where their limitations are most likely to affect the results institutions rely on for decisions and regulatory compliance.
Model validations are not a side service here, they are the core of the business.
